Hello CRJ Club Members!
I am very excited for the start of a new academic year. As advisor for the club, I look forward to working with the new officers to launch new and exciting activities. Our goal has always been to provide educational and networking opportunities for our members. With so many careers in the criminal justice field to choose from, a big push is to offer things in all of the member's areas of interests, whether it is law enforcement, law and courts, corrections and re-entry, victimology, crime prevention, and more.
The past two years were hard to navigate. We went through a pandemic, online classes, and of course many changes in the protocols for campus gatherings and events. This semester feels like we are almost back to normal, fingers crossed. With that, I am hoping to have a new slate of officers elected soon, so we can begin the work!
As a heads up, Dr. Matthew Fetzer will be taking over as main advisor for the club after the new slate of officers is elected. He has shared with me some of his ideas and is eager to help the club move forward. I am convinced that this will be the start of an invigorating year for the CRJ Club!
Speaking of that, we NEED new leaders! It's not possible for a club to do things without motivated people willing to take it to the next level. That is why I am kindly asking that you step up and serve as an officer. To date, I have 2 candidates that will be running but we need to fill in 4 positions. We need YOU!
Stay tuned for updates regarding the 2022-2022 officers election--coming soon.
Cheers,
Dr. Madero
