About Us

Greetings to all of our members, new and current. Welcome to the Shippensburg Anime Society! We watch newly released anime shows as well as older ones. We have three different meeting times which take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. If you can't show up to certain meetings, feel free to show up to the others. And if you need to leave early, or you show up late, don't worry, you'll always be welcome!

The first meeting of the week is what a lot of us refer to as Main Club. This takes place every Tuesday from 7:00pm until around 10:30pm in Orindorff Theatre. For those of you unfamiliar with it, the building is the main building for business majors. We show 4 shows, usually 2 episodes of each, that range in different genres with a 15 minute break in between the 2nd and 3rd slots and a 5 minute break between other slots. Any major announcements will also be said here as well as on our Discord server.

On Thursdays, we have what we call Anime Underground or just Underground for short. It takes place in the CUB at the TV lounge on the top floor next to The Slate office. This semester we'll be trying out a new format: we'll be showing a few episodes of two different anime per week, then doing the same with different anime in the following weeks. The anime will be chosen based on the recommendations and input of club members. Underground is a lot more lenient with talking and some of its content, so we tend to just hang out there and joke around while the shows are playing. This takes place around 7:00pm to 9:30pm.

Last but not least we've got Anime Arcade. This takes place on Fridays from 6:00pm to around 10:00pm, and is located in the CUB at the TV lounge on the top floor next to The Slate office. We play anime related games, such as visual novels, where we all read for the characters which is a lot of fun and gets everyone involved. If you join during the middle of a game, don't worry, we'll fill you in on any plot points you missed.
